These areas have developed a severe parking problem for residents living in the area due to some residents parking many company vehicles on the roads, old unused vehicles, and two or more personal vehicles. Persons are also blocking off drop curves, parking on the green areas and parking dangerously around corners and on pavements.
All residents especially the elderly, those with disabilities and residents with children are now having to park their vehicles far away from where they live because there are no available spaces. Some residents have had their vehicles damaged by other passing vehicles, vandalised, and broken into because their vehicle is far away from everyone’s eye. These problems have been occurring for the past three years.
Firstly, we the residents are asking that the council implement parking permits for residents so people with one vehicle can have at least an access to park where they live. Those with more than one vehicle should have to pay for extra permits.
Secondly, There should be No-Parking signs or yellow lines put around corners so people will not park dangerously.
Thirdly, install proper bollards to block off green spaces so persons cannot park there.
Fourthly, have regular traffic warden patrols in the area to
ensure persons are not blocking off drop curbs and parking where
they should not.
